Speech Therapy Services for Children
Childhood Apraxia of Speech • Speech and Language Disorders • Late Talkers • Stuttering • Autism • Selective Mutism
Evaluations
Before beginning speech therapy, your child will attend an evaluation session where we assess your child’s communication strengths and needs. This process helps us determine if therapy is recommended and, if so, how to best support your child moving forward.
Here’s what to expect during the evaluation:
Parent interview
Case history questionnaire
Observation of your child
Review of past evaluations, IEPs, or medical records
Formal standardized tests, tailored to your child’s age and concerns
After the evaluation, we’ll review the results with you, answer your questions, and discuss a personalized plan that fits your child’s goals and your family’s needs.
What Therapy Looks Like
At The Children’s Communication Center, every speech therapy session is individualized and tailored to your child's communication needs, interests, and learning style. Our sessions are fun and motivating, keeping your child engaged in the learning process. Sessions often include:
Games, books, toys, and activities aligned with your child’s interests
Simple strategies modeled for parents to use at home
Hands-on caregiver involvement and consultation after each session
Sessions held in our office or via telehealth for added convenience
We believe therapy should be a positive and collaborative experience, for both kids and parents. Our goal is for your child to feel confident, capable, and proud of how they communicate.
