Insurance & billing

The Children's Communication Center is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem Blue Cross, and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare.

For our out-of-network clients, we provide a superbill that can be submitted to your health insurance company for direct reimbursement.

We also serve private-pay clients and accept health savings plans and credit cards.

REFERRAL PROCESS

1. Please contact your health insurance plan and inquire about prior authorization for speech and language evaluation and therapy services.

2. Please contact your health insurance plan and inquire about your speech and language benefits (number of sessions), including deductible, coinsurance, and/or copay for services.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • We work with children ages birth through young adulthood.

  • The frequency and length of therapy will vary for each child. It is highly determined by the severity of your child's communication disorder. Progress in therapy is highly correlated with consistent attendance and family involvement.

  • Our skilled speech-language pathologists will complete a comprehensive evaluation. The results of this evaluation will determine if your child needs speech and language therapy.

  • Yes. We can work with your child if they are receiving speech therapy through early intervention and/or through their school. We often collaborate with the child's school or EI speech pathologist to ensure we are all working together on the same communication goals.

  • Yes. It is possible that your child may qualify for private speech and language therapy. Our skilled speech-language pathologists will conduct an independent evaluation and determine if your child qualifies for services.

  • Yes. Our philosophy is that collaboration among educators and therapists is important for the child's progress.

  • The frequency of therapy sessions will be determined by the treating therapist. It will depend on the needs and severity of your child's communication disorder.

  • Our office uses Simple Practice for teletherapy, a HIPAA compliant platform. You will receive an e-mail with a link for your session and will log in at the time of therapy.

  • Yes. Parents and caregivers are invited to participate in therapy sessions. If parents or caregivers are not present, the therapist will provide consultation following each session regarding the child's goals, performance, and strategies to try at home.
